Need to get some newer stuff up, but for now, here’s a sketch for an old story idea. I did a really simple story a couple years ago about a little kid called Seamus and how he finds and befriends a basset hound. In the new version, he’s older, bespectacled, and rechristened Pelham (Seamus would work better if I spelled it Shamus, but either way it’s too unwieldy a name for a kid’s book. Even Pelham, I suppose, might be a little too odd…). He imagines all the different animals he wants for a pet. The idea was to juxtapose the reality of owning an exotic pet with his fantasies of the cool things he could do with them.
